Wine:

Tanagra is a dream come true for Robert and Anette Rosenbach, who’ve turned Tanagra into a flourishing wine & guest farm since they took over the farm in 2009. A magnificient wild figtree  gave the name to the farm – ‘Tanagra’ echoes the Khoisan expression for a well-shaded place, and it contributes to the Old-World charm .  Robert and Anette produce an exclusive range of handcrafted and environmentally friendly wines in their boutique winery, typical for the fynbos-scented terroir at the border of the Klein Karoo.  The vineyards at Tanagra are small blocks more than 20 years old, all certified as ‘Single Vineyards’, sitting right next to Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve, surrounded by wild fynbos and succulent Karoo, and create highly aromatic wines.  And at the boutique distillery at Tanagra Robert creates very elegant, European-style Marc (grappa) and Eau de Vie. Come and visit for a unique and personal wine tasting or grappa tasting experience at Tanagra. Robert and Anette personally introduce visitors to the farm, the winery and the Tanagra wines and spirits and regard tastings as personal encounters rather than standardized procedures.

Come and share the beautiful landscapes, mountain views and sunsets, and experience life on a working wine farm close to the quaint village of McGregor. Tanagra offers 6 self-catering apartments and cottages, some situated at the main farm, close to the historic homestead, canopied by their giant wild fig tree and with a swimming pool in the garden, others are tucked away in the wild fynbos of the surrounding hills with private plunge pools.  All cottages have open fireplaces and private braai places.  German owners Robert and Anette would be delighted to welcome you to their farm and share their experience with you.
