GENERAL MANAGER ASSISTANT

Jan Harmsgat Country House has a position available for a General Manager’s assistant that will support him in all his daily tasks. The successful candidate will be highly organized, extremely detail-oriented, self-motivated, as well as demonstrate the ability to respond effectively to changing workloads and priorities. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, manage multiple assignments and people simultaneously.

TASTING ROOM ASSISTANT

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic tasting room assistant to join the Springfield Estate sales team in Robertson. The successful candidate should have a positive attitude, be willing to learn, and possess the following qualities:

 

  • Be sales orientated with an outward approach
  • Be presentable
  • Great organisational skills
  • Be punctual and reliable
  • Energetic and passionate

REQUIREMENTS AND KEY DUTIES:

 

  • Tasting Room sales administration, including Cashing up and daily stock control
  • Presenting wine tastings and conducting cellar tours
  • Hosting guests and visitors
  • Have appropriate wine knowledge
  • Proficient in Afrikaans and English (written and verbal)
  • Invoice processing and reconciliation
  • Be fully conversant with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

The position will be a permanent appointment and will require you to be available over weekends and public holidays. Own reliable transport is crucial.

ADMIN ASSISTANT

VACANCY: ADMIN ASSISTANT

 

Springfield Estate requires the services of a full time Administrative Assistant in Robertson.

 

The successful candidate should have a positive attitude, be willing to learn, and possess the following qualities and skills:

 

  • Be punctual and reliable
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Energetic and passionate
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Afrikaans and English
  • Excellent Computer skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of EzyWine would be advantageous

The key roles and responsibilities will include the following:

 

  • Give excellent administrative support to staff
  • Presenting wine tastings when required
  • Health & Safety administration
  • Administration of Compliance Systems, such as WIETA
  • Upkeep of data used for internal and external audits
  • Payroll / Wages

The position will require you to work one Saturday per month in the tasting room presenting tastings, and conducting cellar tours. Own reliable transport and drivers license is crucial. SALES AND MARKETING

A Sales & Marketing position is offered at Rietvallei Wine Estate outside Robertson.

Duties will include
  • Create a marketing strategy and plan for SA
  • Liaison with the sales representatives around SA
  • Creating sales goals and setting targets
  • Regular trade visits to customers and local wine shows
  • Marketing knowledge of relevant social media platforms with management experience

Skills Required

 

  • An understanding of current trends and best practices in the wine and liquor industry
  • Excellent knowledge of all sales and marketing platforms
  • Relationships with role players in the industry eg: key buyers, sommeliers restauranteers
  • Energetic and positive work ethic
  • Enjoy and are able to travel and work over weekends
  • Have a valid driver’s license and own transport
  • Ability to generate sales spreadsheet and reports
