ALDERT NIEUWOUDT

Aldert grew up in Somerset West and studied at Elsenburg for 3 years from 2004 till end of 2006 where he obtained his degree in Cellar management and Viticulture. Thereafter, he studied an additional year in 2010 to obtain his diploma in winemaking. One of his career highlights would be working with Rianie Strydom one of the Cape Wine Makers Guild winemakers at Haskell Vineyards to create exceptional wines of 5-star quality and he hopes to continue this at Bushmanspad Estate. Winemaking runs in the family for this young winemaker as both his father and oldest brother are winemakers. For Aldert, Winemaking always looked like a career where people share ideas and can be social without it feeling like work. Aldert believes that when it comes to making great wine, the quality and effort you put in, needs to start in the vineyards and be maintained through to the glass.
