Robertson Wine Valley cellars score well with Double gold and Gold

As the competition season for 2017 draws to a close, the formal gala dinner at the Cape Town Convention Centre saw the Veritas Awards being presented for market-ready wines and brandies. 
Robertson Wine Valley members brought home an impressive 108 medals for wines across numerous categories.  Three cellars were awarded Double Gold for entries – they are Graham Beck, Rietvallei Estate and Viljoensdrift Associated Wineries. The winning wines are Graham Beck Blanc de Blancs, Rietvallei Sauvignon Blanc 2017 and Viljoensdrift Villion Blanc de Blanc 2009.
Bon Courage Estate attracted the highest number of awards overall, with a total of 16 medals, followed by De Wetshof Estate and Rooiberg Winery, both with 11.
The Veritas Awards are the longest-running and largest wine competition in South Africa, and are widely perceived as one of the most credible by consumers. There were 1 638 wines entered this year. The public will be able to taste all the Double Gold and Gold winning wines at a series of tastings held countrywide during October and November.

Once again, we congratulate the winning cellars for their triumphant totals across 2017 in the numerous and diverse contests in which they have participated. Their victories contribute not only to establishing Robertson region as one whose name is always associated with success but also as the valley to which wine-lovers and consumers gravitate for consistent and superior quality, no matter what their personal choice of wine.
